As with all Guard Group ventures, rice was no exception and all aspects of rice plantation, processing, packaging and distribution were undertaken. Guard Rice is the only company in the private sector doing basic research and development of new varieties of Basmati in Pakistan. Our R & D division is headed by Dr. Abdul Majeed (Recipient of President of Pakistan's Pride of Performance Award) introduced a new variety of Basmati by the name of Guard Supreme Basmati (Super Basmati) in 1991. Latest addition in line in a new variety-MG Super Basmati.
